Painted Post Man Arrested, Charged With Grand Larceny

On August 17, 2026, at approximately 5:50 a.m., New York State Police in SP Painted Post responded to Bob Evans, located at 1 South Buffalo St. in the town of Corning, for a reported larceny. 

The investigation determined that an unidentified male entered the business's equipment storage area and stole multiple items. The stolen property had a combined value of approximately $1,398.00. 

Troopers identified the suspect as 40 year old Thomas A. Margeson of Paintd Post. Troopers located Margeson while on patrol and took him into custody without incident. 

Margeson was charged with Grand Larceny, 4th degree (E felony). He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Corning Court on September 15, 2026. 

All property was recovered and returned to Bob Evans.
