The Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society has announced that the annual Fireworks and Party in the Park will be moving to a new location in 2027.

Details have not been finalized but the event will not be held at Eldridge Park.

“Unfortunately, as the fireworks grew and our crowds increased, we could no longer guarantee a safe environment for our patrons” said Board Secretary Bob Kramarik.  “Over 10,000 people attended inside the park this year with thousands enjoying the fireworks offsite.  Even with increased security, we encountered multiple people smoking around children, riding e-bikes through the crowd and groups starting fights.  These groups who refused to follow safety rules made it impossible to create a safe event.”

Kramarik says the Board is working with their sponsor partners and groups to create two new events centered around community, families and children for 2027.

Ah , Elmira’s underbelly crawled out from under the rocks to screw things up again… still … as usual! But thats what its come to , the inmates taking over the asylum. Its a shame the venue has to be changed especially with Eldridge Park becoming a family oriented enjoyable place again . All the years of hard work by the Volunteers probably shot to hell in one night !

My bet is it is moving to the Fair Grounds I cannot think of another location that could handle that amount of people.
