Being one of my all time favorite shows, I'd heard a lot of this. I didn't know about Ellen Corby being a lot saltier than Grandma Walton though. Yet somehow it doesn't surprise me.

Also, it's tru about the actors who portrayed the kids. Not only do they do a lot of fan events and reunions, a lot of them are very active on Facebook. Kami Coulter, aka "Elizabeth" is especially so. She will often write behind the scenes posts about filming that I enjoy reading.

A little taste of home for an 18 year old snatched out of his country home ( damn sure not like the Waltons lol ) to see the World courtesy of Uncle Sam . When the show was on the day rooms in barracks and on ships it was so quiet and Heaven help the noobie recruit that reached for the channel knob , lol remember that round thing above the volume knob ?!
