The New York State Police arrested 32 year old Daniel E. White of Bath following a child exploitation investigation conducted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, SP Bath and the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit.

According to State Police, in April 2024, the New York State Police received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) related to the online sharing of child sexual abuse material through a social media platform. The investigation led investigators to a residence located in the town of Bath.

On February 25, 2025, members of the New York State Police seized multiple electronic devices for forensic examination. The devices were later analyzed at the New York State Police Computer Forensics Laboratory, where investigators confirmed the presence of approximately 1,555 images/videos of child sexual abuse material on several devices.

As a result of the investigation, on July 17, 2026, White was taken into custody without incident.

White was charged with: Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child (E felony). He was processed at State Police barracks in Bath and taken to Steuben County Jail for arraignment.
