July 21Jul 21 Former Bradford County District Attorney Chad Salsman is heading back to state prison.Salsman was sentenced to two months to five years on the charge of person not to possess a firearm. He was arrested by the state police following events where Salsman used a 22-caliber rifle to kill a pigeon in Wilmot Township.He was also convicted of the Unauthorized Practice of Law because he was trying to act as a lawyer by giving legal advice to inmates while housed at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, awaiting trial.Read the entire article here.

July 22Jul 22 Shooting a pigeon seems a petty offense that most parolees would arguably get a slap on the wrist for. And unless he was charging for legal services....simply giving advice seems like a flimsy charge. I feel like that would be a bigger charge than the firearm if it reakly was anything significant and actually "practicing" law....probably including some tax crimes, etc.So I sort of wonder if whoever was his predecessor as DA may be trying to make a point to restore "faith" in the Office, and demonstrate that he isn't showing any favoritism for a disgraced former DA.And I certainly don't blame them if that's the case.
