The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of 45-year-old Christopher S. Price of Elmira Heights for Burglary in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a Class A Misdemeanor.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff's Office, on June 8, 2026, around 09:07 A.M., deputies were dispatched to a residence on Lenox Avenue in the Town of Horseheads for a report of a theft of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered that Price had taken the homeowner’s motor vehicle from an address that he had previously been trespassed from. The Criminal Investigation Division was made aware of the burglary and assisted in the remainder of the investigation.

Investigators learned that Price took the motor vehicle in the early morning hours and had returned it around 09:00 A.M. Upon returning the motor vehicle, he entered the residence without permission and remained unlawfully inside the residence that he had previously trespassed from before being confronted by the homeowner.

As a result of the investigation, Price was arrested and arraigned by the Town of Horseheads Court, where an Order of Protection was issued against him. He was then remanded to the Chemung County Jail.

This is a definite case of bail reform gone bad. Went right back to where he was arrested before. Clearly someone he knows since he keeps going back and apparently knew where the keys to the vehicle were.
