The New York State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person from Tioga County.

Police say 47 year old Lance O. Bogart was last seen at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, near the wood line behind a residence on Halsey Valley Road in the Town of Tioga (Barton mailing address).

Bogart is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

A witness reported observing Bogart running northeast into a wooded area. At the time, he appeared to be in distress and may have been under the influence of an unknown substance.

State Police and assisting agencies have conducted searches of the surrounding area. The investigation remains active.

UPDATE: According to New York State Police, Bogart was located deceased on April 30, 2026, in a creek near his residence in the Town of Tioga. Police say there is no indication of criminal activity. The investigation remains ongoing.
