According to WENY News, a new business could be coming to the Town of Big Flats.

A plan to construct a 7 Brew Coffee stand is on the agenda for the planning board. According to town documents, the stand would be built within the existing parking lot between Michael’s and Taco Bell on County Route 64.

Apparently from what I gather it is a drive thru only business.

It sounds like the reconstructed Dunkin on Chambers Rd. will be as well, or close to it. The plans are to lower the interior square footage to allow for more parking outside. Which is a good thing really, DD's tend to cause traffic issues around here for some reason. And by that I mean everyone flocks to the place for what I consider to be lousy coffee.

College ave and Miracle mile Dunkin are always backing up traffic. I am not a fan of their doughnuts I do occasionally like to get their breakfast deal like right now it's a medium drink and 2 of their egg wraps which are pretty good. Need to switch it up from Byrne dairy coffee every day ( i buy the mug for 50 that gets you free coffee for the year)

Checking out 7 brews menu it looks like mostly cold drinks like cold coffee, lemonade milkshakes and dirty sodas. Considering where it is going it should not be a very big building but will make getting out of that plaza a little harder unless you go down past TJ Maxx and use that entrance/exit

I can't believe how excited people are for that to open. Supposedly they have really good drinks. Personal opinion, if you have had one whether it be coffee or iced coffee drinks or anything along those lines, you have had them all. Except DD coffee. Nastiest stuff on early. Tastes like the crap they clean the pots with.

The types of drinks they are selling are all the rage now. There is another one called "sips" I believe. Tried "sips" in Florida and it was pretty good don't recall exactly what it was, but it was basically one of those dirty sodas.

Fair point....I'm sure a lot of people assume the spokeperson or "face" of an organization is hired as more than just a spiritual leader, but also responsible for business and financials.

Instead of realizing that there is some equivalent to a board of directors. Someone approved taking out the loan and presumably were tracking all the commercial/business revenue that The L was drawing in. All the way from the last payment in January 2023 through the end of 2023 when the last pastor skipped...to deciding to hire the new pastor and issuing his pay....to now.

At the very least, there would be some bookkeeper and office staff opening the mail and ignoring payments for over three years while keeping up on like NYSEG. and every other bill.

Exactly.

I wouldn't even expect the previous pastor to have had complete control of all business operations with no other church officers weighing in on multi-million dollar deals. And if they did allow him that sort of unfettered control, it's still on them to bear responsibility for the church's debts once he left.

WETM news is reporting that an investigation is currently underway after a dog has died after allegedly being left inside an Elmira Animal Control vehicle.

Additionally, the station is reporting that the Elmira Animal Shelter was not selected to receive a $500,000 grant that was applied for.

i can hear the defense now: "returned to facility" isnt exactly a lie; it was returned to the property! also, if the owners didnt see the dog IN the vehicle, then staff can say it was not left in the vehicle and no one is the wiser

regardless, whoever was charged with the care of the animal must be terminated, i am wholly unimpressed with that shelter, they have municipal agreements( mandated that towns have some form of animal control) yet always seem powerless to actually do anything when expected to return on investment

I believe I saw a friend or family member on social media said the family was there to get their dog and that’s when it was discovered that the dog was still in the vehicle.

I don’t think it’s the same there as before Craig retired. Twice I called them regarding mistreatment of a dog and I’m not sure they ever turned a wheel to investigate. And they certainly never followed up with me despite my asking.

At a ceremony held yesterday at City Hall, interim City Manager Charmain Cattan and interim City Chamberlain Olivia Furness were sworn into office. This comes after City Manager Michael Collins left office last week.

Both will fill their roles until the end of 2027, the remainder of what would have been Collins' term, before being up for reappointment.

STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. (WETM) – A US Air Force Airman, once featured on 18 News and on MyTwinTiers.com, is now in federal prison.

Allen VanEtten, who hails from Caton, NY, was court-martialed in April, 18 News Digital has learned.

A spokesman from Joint Base Langley Eustice told 18 News that VanEtten was convicted of child porn possession and of soliciting it and viewing it. He was also convicted of child sexual abuse.
