No surprise here and nothing new to add about his "accomplishments" lol.

An Elmira man is throwing his hat in the ring for a seat on Elmira City Council.

On early Monday morning, Anthony Cantando announced his candidacy for the fourth district. That seat is currently held by Gary Brinn, whose term ends in 2027.

His "to do" list is interesting and although admirable, not on top of the most pressing issues surrounding the city right now.

A little research on his data center ban and he would find that the city probably can not permanently "ban" all data centers. I've seen the state allow moratoriums but not total bans on anything. That's why there is so much solar that none of the municipalities wanted.

Before the solar farms, the "state" made it clear with wind farms that various "commissions" on energy and infrastructure, etc have the authority to override the Municipal Home Rule Law, with no appeal process, for whatever they deem is for the benefit of the Greater Good.

(And to be clear, the "state" refers to the D supermajority in Albany that appoints the commissions that are given this authority).

saw on the book today that Rodney Strange endorsed Mark Margeson. interesting since reading the donations, he donated to Moss campaign during the primary and nothing to Margeson to date?

also, looking at Margesons filings, theres quite a chunk of money he/family member poured into the committee to elect

would be really swell for the SCOTUS to wake up and rule that money does NOT equal free speech, that it actually hinders many from participating in the process

Mark is currently considered the Republican candidate to run for the position. Moss lost the primary. Margeson will now be endorsed by the Republican party as their candidate.

If I recall correctly, Rodney has always waited until after the primary to endorse a candidate, which is the candidate who won the primary

Correct. He did however endorse Moss before the primary which is unusual. When I spoke with him yesterday he did say that Margeson was considered the Republican candidate now and would be endorsed by the party as such.

im not trying to imply anything, rodneys always been good to work with, im more curious as to he donated to moss, not margeson during the primary season, and i swear he did actually endorse moss then as well;

i guess im just jaded enough on politics that, in general, i see it as hypocrisy
