June 12Jun 12 This is how WENY summarized the race....Early voting for the primary begins Saturday, June 13, with the primary election set for Tuesday, June 23. The race is open only to registered Republicans in Chemung County. There are no democrats are running for the seat. If Margeson wins the Republican primary, he would still face Moss on the ballot in November, who is also on the Conservative party line. If Moss wins the primary, he would win the office outright in November.I'm curious if that's accurate.....or if Margeson filed petitions for an Independent line (outside of party lines for Rep, Dem, CON, etc).

Conservative Party allows people registered in other parties when they don’t have a candidate registered as CON themselves (because it elevates the party’s ballot access for future election cycles). I don’t agree with it either....but as long as it’s a thing then I have to say 'hedging your bet' with an IND line is fair game. As an independent, I don't get a primary vote, nor do any registered DEM since they have no one running. That means Rep primary voters have a huge amount of influence. I hope Margeson had the foresight to do that since there is no Dem candidate and Moss will be on the November ballot under the Con line.

Mark chose to just run Republican. If Moss did, then he had them along with the others in his "drive up". I didn't hear that he did.
June 13Jun 13 Holy Corruption, Batman!!At the June 8 Full Legislature....when ‘Old Business’ is addressed (beginning at the 11:10 mark)....Smith makes some alarming allegations. If true, many of the facts seem pretty easy to verify. And it’s the type of stuff that should have been investigated and covered by local journalists well before now when early voting for the primary is already starting.

June 13Jun 13 I feel like someone should just send this to WENY (WETM is useless) anonymously and ask them to investigate. Unless of course they have been told to keep their yaps shut too

He's a good orator and can be persuasive and articulate.....but has made unsubstantiated claims at times. If his characterization has any truth, then I'm sure county employees would indeed be reluctant to speak with the media. But I would think the tenant that he claims was being pressured to leave is under that directive (and allegedly has a paper trail).
June 13Jun 13 https://publicreporting.elections.ny.gov/ContributionsByRecipient/ContributionsByRecipientlink is where i found part of the above page and a half of him/wife reporting a few grand of in kind donations for 2026, but i see no Premier listing as Mr Smith indicated in the meetingIf there is any truth to his claims, that is critical information voters should know about asapits interesting that as confrontational as the exec has been, there is at least two legislators supporting his campaignequally alarming is what is the reason for why the Legislature cannot be given a tour of a county property Edited June 13Jun 13 by ADAM
June 13Jun 13 Those are some pretty substantial allegations. 2 hours ago, ADAM said:but i see no Premier listing as Mr Smith indicated in the meetingMay have to go further back, unless you did?
June 14Jun 14 That candidate contribution site is awful to sort/filter. I pulled a list of all Exec campaigns from 2022 to present. There are a total of 276 contributions between Moss and Margeson. I don't see anything from Premier....unless Smith searched by some individual's name who is associated with them. There are also a bunch with random Alphabet LLCs or just street addresses for the contributors' name.Even weirder....there's several grand reported with the contributors' names blank. Not that unnamed donors supports or refutes the claim either way....I just find it weird that they can report contributions that are basically anonymous:

Is Premier an LLC or Corp? In NY an LLC is not required to list it's managing members so hard to know exactly who is involved.
June 14Jun 14 Margeson has a very short timeframe to persuade one party to allow him on the November ballot. It seems like a pretty steep climb in nine days to correct misperceptions about his IDA record and/or shed light on any questionable actions by Moss. I’m not very optimistic that will happen. It’s unfortunate that he declined to offer registered voters outside the REP Party the opportunity to participate by circulating petitions for an IND line.

He had to get 1500 signatures in less than 30 days. Only about 1/2 the folks who ran the Rep petitions were available because 1/2 were college students. We had to figure out who already signed the Rep forms and then approach any non Rep voters who had not signed Mosses. I can personally vouch that an amazing number of people signed petitions but had no idea who's they were when I was running them. In the end the decision was made that there just wasn't time available to do it.

Considering his ego (and already securing the CON line), did he even attempt to petition for an IND line this time?If not....then it doesn’t seem like Moss would have had any signatures from non Rep (or Con) registered voters. Ed Bond (the Dem running for the legislative seat Mark is vacating) has expressed support for Mark....it seems like there were likely other DEMs unhappy with Moss who would have been willing to pitch in for an IND petition. In any case (hindsight being 20/20), it’s too late to recapture the opportunity now. So those of us not registered REP will just have to wait and see results from primary voters.

Guess it would have made sense to carry both at the same time. Most of the folks running petitions were going door to door so they could pretty much only go to Rep's. I had them with me all the time (like at the Moose clubs, the Tavern) and could talk to everyone.
June 19Jun 19 I see the mud slinging has ramped up on social media. Largely it seems to be coming from what look to be fake accounts with pretty impressive AI slop skills.

Seemed to attempt to be a little more articulate and respectful with their comments on Lawanna's page....then decided to post more AI garbage with no links or sources to their accusations. Transparency from the IDA needs to happen, but the unverified meme fodder isn't the way to address it. And it's not all Mark. The most guilt he has perhaps not doing more about the Executive Director (that Moss and Sheen installed) being held accountable.

When she asked for proof and facts and I provided them, she just stopped engaging and next thing you know the same AI flyer with the same incorrect info is posted the next day.Someone was calling her a Moss plant and honestly I'm beginning to wonder. The other guy I keep seeing is from the Flats and thinks he knows everything. All consistently repeated what has already been proven to be incorrect. He's obviously a hot head too. Doesn't matter how many IDA voted for it, nor legislatures were on board with it, it's all Marks fault because he held the vote. LOL. Thats what a chairman does. Oversees the meeting.Guy isn't super bright.
