TROY, Pa. – According to a release from Guthrie Health, the Troy Community Hospital has successfully raised more than $152,000 to bring Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM) to the community, thanks to the remarkable generosity and dedicated efforts of local residents, businesses and organizations. The funds raised surpassed the initial goal, ensuring this vital health care technology will be available locally.

The success of the fundraising campaign was driven by a wave of community support. Numerous events and initiatives contributed significantly, including the WHGL/Wiggle 100 Radiothon, the Walk for a Purpose, the Troy Chamber of Commerce Jeep Jam, the South Creek Volunteer Fire Department Pink Out Super Bingo, the Miller’s Corn Maze Pink Donut sales and several area school "pink out" games. These efforts, combined with generous personal donations, highlighted the community's commitment to enhancing local health care services.

The funds will support the addition of CEM technology to the hospital’s mammography services. CEM is a valuable tool that improves cancer detection, particularly for women with dense breast tissue. This new capability is part of a larger $500,000 upgrade to the hospital's mammography suite, aimed at providing advanced diagnostic services close to home.

Guthrie representatives extend their deepest gratitude to every individual, family and business in the greater Troy community who contributed to this important cause. They say this achievement demonstrates the profound impact a community can have when it comes together to support the health and well-being of its neighbors.
