December 10, 2025Dec 10 A Bath man is facing multiple charges, including rape, according to the Bath Village Police. 44 year old Scott G. Watkins of Bath was charged with Attempted Rape in the 1st Degree Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree Criminal Sex Act in the 1st Degree Two counts of Unlawful Surveillance in the 2nd DegreeBath Police say these charges stem from a months long investigation after a report of a sexual offense against a chold in August in the Village of Bath. Watkins is slleged to have had sexual contact with a female victim under the age of eleven years old and attempted sexual intercourse with the child while she was asleep as a guest in his home. Police also determined that Watkins surveiled multiple female victims under the age of eleven using a hidden security camera in a bedroom. Watkins was processed and transported to Steuben County Jail for arraignment. He was able to post $2,000 bail and was released after only a few hours in jail. The case remains under investigation and police say additional charges are expected following further forensic review of Watkins' tech devices.
