A Bath woman is facing felony animal cruelty charges after police say she allowed a dog to starve to death.

On November 12, Village of Bath police officers responded to a home on Howell Street for a report of a dead dog found in an apartment. When police arrived, they found a dead pit bull mix that had been locked inside a crate and left to die. Police say the dog had been left with no food or water for weeks before its death, though there was a full bag of dog food only a couple of feet away.

As a result of the investigation, 30 year old Kassidy Hall, the former tenant of the apartment, was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, a Class E felony. She was processed and released on an appearance ticket to appear in Bath Village Court at a later dats.

There are people defending her on social media. "Things are not always the way they appear" "Innocent until proven guilty", which is technically correct. "Don't be so quick to Judge"

IDK, it was her apartment that she left the dog in. Maybe it wasn't her dog, but it was clearly her responsibility at the time. If someone was supposed to come get the poor thing (which is the only "not my fault" situation I can think of) you should have at least checked to make sure that happened.

The comments section of any news story on social media really are a mirror of the times we live in.

The amount of people who obviously don’t bother to read the article aside, I’m flabbergasted at the amount of people who will defend anyone accused of anything. She could have skinned a dozen puppies alive for a Tik Tok video and someone would proclaim she’s a “good person” and we “don’t know the whole story.” Or better yet, “no one can judge…”

😡

Lock her ass in a kennel and see how long she lasts with out food. Again let the punishment fit the crime.
