I still remember how, after my Dad died, Mom found Dick Tracy and Superman comics of Dad’s from the late 1930’s between the mattress and box spring of there bed. She threw them away figuring they were just comic books, nothing important.

Adjusted for inflation, the $128 for that game console alone is $430.

Thats the one we had growing up

I remember seeing this in stores as a child but haven’t seen it in years now.

There is a candy store right in town in Penn Yan that sold Teaberry gum last time we were there. Was set up in the old penny candy type tradition. Dave got some gum and I think I got some of those dots that were stuck to the paper. lol

I had something similar. Wasn't quite so big. I remember something similar to this in our living too.

Candy buttons so good.

Oh that was one of my favorite gum... teaberry! I find it occasionally in the old type gas stations where they still have all the cool candy 😄

Oh how cool 😎 is that! Had the Big long stereo combo but never saw one like this...👌

Vermont Country Store carries a lot of the older candies as well.

Same for me, I loved going to KMart.

This was a potato chip bowl that turned into a puke bowl at a New Year’s Eve party we hosted in the early 1980’s 😂

Fisher Price made the best toys. I have a few Fisher Price toys from the 70’s in our attic. My children and grandchildren played with them. Hopefully my future great-grandchildren will play with them someday.

We didn’t have a room, it was more a corner. We can’t forget the sound of dial up connection lol.

I remember getting my first loan for a gateway computer and having to have another phone line ran so being on the internet would not tie up the house phone luckily I had an Uncle who worked for Verizon and was able to help.

Yep same here LOL

Mine was a Compaq that cost $2,000. I got it at some place up in the Heights, College Ave. I think. I didn't run a second phone line though, that was back in the pager days so if someone needed me they called that.

I financed mine as well for some ridiculous interest rate. I don't recall the model quite honestly but had the tower under my little desk that was shoved into what was basically Kyles room. No separate phone line. I was poor.

My ex husband would get online playing games when he was laid off (Union guy) all day long and I couldn't get through when I needed to speak with him. Always a big fight at my house. 3 kids between us all living there so those phone lines needed to be open.

I got lucky. Because I was like 21 and enrolled in paramedic school, the salesman hooked me up with a reduced student interest rate.

I don’t remember anything about buying our first computer except we the noise of connecting through the telephone line and AOL.
