Christmas Traditions From The 60's And 70's That Have Vanished

Featured Replies

As a kid I remember Christmas decorations in the Stores didn’t start until after Thanksgiving. The Sears Wish Book was popular in our home when our kids were growing up. There was never an aluminum Christmas Tree, ever, along with many of the traditions mentioned in the video. We still had good Christmas memories.

Yeah we’d spend God knows how long poring over the pages of the Sears Wish Book. I’ve seen a couple of them out and about but apparently they’re a collectors item now. The cheapest one I found was $20 and I kinda regretted not grabbing it.

I guess the Amazon Holiday catalog is the new Sears catalog. I find it kind of stressful and it's not even half as big. lol

I didn’t know Amazon had a Holiday catalog.

I went to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and we received one of these each year before Christmas break. Eventually they changed to 3D like paper that free stand. Those were what my two of boys received while they were attending a different Catholic grade School. I still have one from all those years ago.
