There are still places that sell them. I know there is a little candy emporium in Penn Yan that still has the Penny candy vibe and treats. Got some Teaberry gum and a candy necklace last time I was there.

Don't look to the new guys running the place for that one. It's been there since the beginning in the room that's supposed to look like a library.

He didn't have it for long. A year or so maybe? Several comments said Jubilee was next because he owned that too but I do not believe the same person bought both stores. Jubilee owner just officially took over completely last week.

I saw something on this a week or so ago and the person posting credited the owner with saying it was closing because of the new Snap benefit rules. He said he was losing 70K a month which I find to be a bit far fetched. Perhaps the owner exaggerated or maybe the poster misunderstood him but that sounds more like a yearly figure rather than monthly. I also wonder why the change in SNAP would cause that kind of loss? These people still have to eat and it's still the cheapest around.

The "talking heads" over there on the analysts desks are all predicting a Bills loss. That Houston defense is straight up one of the best. Honestly, I have no idea how our offense will hold up. I saw 15 minutes of them on the first pre season and nothing at all since so who knows.

I kind of waffled on this one. I can totally see one of my grandkids doing this. He mom would ground her and she would laugh and walk right back out the door. She can be pretty belligerent. It seems like a lot of kids are that way anymore. They think rules don't apply to them at all. Here's hoping if that was the case then the kids may have 2nd thoughts rather than seeing their parent get arrested.

I agree. Granted the charges are not much but it's something but when the let actual people walk free after leaving their kids in hot cars because it was an "accident", I have no hope for humanity.

Right, the news does. This was more of a personal rant by whom I am assuming might have been the owner or someone close. It did include some ridiculous amount of money as well.

Yea, the dog that died in the van was posted and on the news a few months ago. I do know that whomever filed that suit or someone close to it posted on Elmira Dirty Laundry (not the open forum one) about it yesterday naming names and straight up ripping everyone. I guess I should have screen shot it since its since been deleted. I knew it wouldn't be up long with all the names posted.

I support them both and donate in the manner they have always requested. Since the city takes EACs money I donate food, cleaning supplies, blankets, gift cards etc. STAC gets the same but I can donate money too. It's about the animals plain and simple. Not the outrage from social media with only about 3 people who actually know what they are talking about. All this wailing, moaning and pearl clutching is going to backfire on everyone. The city is gonna say F it and just shut it down, kind of like Horseheads did when people wailed about it.

It really is petty. It's also done in his typical style of posting things that are irrelevant or old and yesterdays news and leave it up just long enough for people to see the headlines and I'm willing to bet money, that post disappears. It was also very unprofessionally done. There's misspellings in the actual post and the grammar itself is very poor. Don't know who the "campaign" manager is he speaks of from time to time, but if this is their work then it's not helping him.
