EPD Respond To Disturbance On Maple Ave.

Recommended Posts

This afternoon at approximately 3:15 PM, members from the Elmira Police Department responded to the area of Maple Av. and Horner St. for an initial report of a disturbance.

Responding officers received information that two males, one armed with a firearm and the other with a baseball bat, were seen in this area.  Officers were advised that the subject with the firearm ran inside of a residence at that intersection and the other male ran away.  A perimeter was set up around the house and attempts were made to make contact with someone inside.  Consent was obtained to clear the house and nobody was located inside.

Officers were able to learn the identities of the two suspects.  It was alleged that they had robbed a female of money.  This female was identified, but she would not cooperate with officers.  Both suspects were located in the area and were found to be in possession of pellet style guns.  They were detained and later released.  No charges have been filed at this time.

The investigation into this matter continues.  The Elmira Police Department is asking any witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Elmira Police Department at (607)737-5626, or the tip line at (607)271-HALT.
