Steuben County To Hold Law Enforcement Memorial Service This Friday

Recommended Posts

Steuben County Sheriff James Allard announced today the Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service is set for 6 p.m. Friday (May 18) at the Steuben County Public Safety Building Law Enforcement Memorial Park.

The service caps off “Steuben County Police Officers Week” and is open to the public. It will be attended by state and local officials, law enforcement and veterans.

The ceremony Friday will feature the unveiling of the Steuben Memorial Statue, a blue glass flame created by the glassmakers of The Corning Museum of Glass, representing an eternal dedication to the memory of all fallen officers, supported by seven pillars, created by the metal crafters at The Mercury Corporation, representing the seven counties honored in the memorial park. The statue is a tribute to all law enforcement.

“We are honored and humbled by the extraordinary support received in the on-going building of this park and the artistry of this beautiful and unique statue,” Allard said. “This is just one more example of what makes Steuben County a special place to live and work.”
