Henry Dormann Dies At Age 86

Local television host, leader, and philanthropist Henry Dormann has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 86. 

Born in New York City in 1932, Dormann held an impressive resume, including:

-Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, LEADERS Magazine

-President and Editor-in-Chief, S.I.P.A. News Service

-Chairman, International Board of Industrial Advisors.

-Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Executive Committee, The National EnquirerPresident and Editor-in-Chief, Holiday Magazine.

Additionally, he authored five books, the most recent, Letters From Leaders in 2009.

More recently, Dormann was probably best known for his television show, "Around Town With Henry Dormann" and daily "Thought Of The Day" which aired on WENY TV.

Locally, Dormann was also well known for his community service, funding a major expansion to the Davenport Library in Bath which was later named The Dormann Library in honor of he and his wife. He also served as an Honorary Trustee for Elmira College, was the founder and the first Executive Director, Library of Presidential Papers, Institute for the Study of the Presidency, and was the Founder/President, Foundation for Family Values among other positions held. 

Prior to his passing, Dormann filmed a farewell message thanking the community for being a part of his television show.
