Two Arrested On Drug Charges In Millport

On Monday, members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, Troop E Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Troop E uniform force and NYSP Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team conducted a narcotic investigation on Maple Street in the village of Millport, Chemung County, NY.        

Investigators seized approximately three ounces of suspected methamphetamine oil, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine manufacturing materials and chemicals.

As a result of the investigation, 38 year old Martin Best, and 33 year old Melissa Fisher, both of Millport were both arrested for Unlawful Manufacturing of Methamphetamine 3rd degree ( a class D felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child ( a class A misdemeanor).  
 
Best was arraigned in the Town of Horseheads Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $5,000 cash/ $10,000 bond.

Fisher was arraigned in the Town of Horseheads Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $2,500 cash/ $5,000 bond.   

The arrests stemmed from an investigation conducted by the New York State Police and the Chemung County Child Protective Services.
