Incumbent Third District legislator Tom Sweet, also a Republican, announced recently that he would seek re-election.

In addition to his county position, Belosky has been a self-employed contractor since 1974, with projects such as Colonial Estates and Prospect Ridge housing subdivisions on his résumé, along with leading renovations at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath. He is a former board member of the National Soaring Museum and former cabinet member of the United Way.

Belosky's goals included shared service agreements, maintaining local municipalities and fiscal responsibility.
