Accused Murderer Found Dead At County Jail

32-year-old, Curtis Burrows formerly of Mansfield, PA., , who plead not guilty to charges in the murder of Timothy Webster of Big Flats back on November 3, 2017, ended his own life Tuesday evening in his cell. 

According to Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss, Burrows was found dead at approximately 11:00PM on Tuesday evening. 


Back in November 2017, Burrows attempted to kidnap a woman he met on Facebook. The woman was in Corning when Burrows' failed in his attempt to kidnap her. Although the woman escaped from Burrows, he did steal her vehicle and later crashed the car in a ditch on the north end of Hickok Road, near the intersection of Goff Road in the Town of Corning.

Burrows would end up breaking into the home of Timothy Webster located in Big Flats. Burrows was reported to have shot Webster and then fled in the victim's truck before crashing near Mansfield.

Burrows had been arrested at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. He was later hospital and held in extradited to New York where he was facing a first-degree murder charge and 12 other counts.

The Criminal Investigation Division is investigating Burrows' apparent suicide, at this time.
