Margeson To Run For 5th District Legislative Seat

A Horseheads businessman plans to run for a seat on the Chemung County Legislature.

Mark Margeson, a partner in the Margeson Insurance Agency of Horseheads, is running as a Republican for the 5th District legislative seat, which includes parts of the towns of Erin and Horseheads.

Incumbent 5th District legislator Ken Miller, also a Republican, announced recently he is running for county executive, creating a three-way primary race with Southern Tier Economic Growth President Mike Krusen and Sheriff Christopher Moss.

Margeson has been a licensed insurance broker since 1982. He is also active in many professional organizations and served on various community boards.

There's a lot of candidates coming out of the woodwork this year it seems. Going to make for an interesting election cycle I think.
