Cuomo Orders Flags At Half Staff In Honor Of Victims Of Schoharie County Crash

Recommended Posts

After a limousine crash killed earlier this week left 20 people dead in Schoharie County, Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered that flags across New York State be flown at half staff in honor of the victims who died in the crash.

"In the wake of the Schoharie crash, it is hard to fathom the extent of this tragedy. We lost mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, sisters, brothers and friends, and the community will never be the same," Cuomo said. "The entire family of New York mourns for the lives cut short in this crash. In memory of those who were taken from us, I am directing that flags be lowered to half-staff.

ON Saturday afternoon, the stretch limo, packed with 18 people, drove through a stop sign at the notorious intersection and fatally struck two people in the parking lot of a popular country store, before slamming into an earthen embankment and killing all of the oversized vehicle's occupants, including the driver.

It is the nations deadliest transportation disaster in nine years.
