Health Department Seeks Dog Involved In Biting Incident

Recommended Posts

The Chemung County Health Department is seeking the public's assistance locating a dog that was involved in a biting incident that occurred on Fulton Street near the intersection with Mt. Zoar Street in the City of Elmira.

Health department officials say the bite occurred on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at approximately 6:30 p.m.  The dog is described as a medium-sized pit bull mix, white, black and brown or gray in color and was wearing a purple harness.  The woman with the dog was approximately 30-35 years old and 5 feet 4 inches tall.  She was further described as Caucasian with a thin build and brown hair.  She possibly mentioned living on Broadway Street.

If you own this dog or have any other information on how to contact the owner, please call the Chemung County Health Department @ 737-2019 (737-2044 after hours) as soon as possible.  If it can be verified that the dog is healthy, rabies shots for the bite victim can be avoided.
