Police Arrest Six After Steuben County Drug Busts

Earlier today law enforcement agencies conducted simultaneous busts in the towns of Rathbone and Addison. An investigation revealed the residences allegedly contained and warrants were applied for and obtained in Steuben County Court.

Upon entry, deputies from the Steuben County Sheriff's Department and officers from the New York State Police found what appeared to be methamphetamine production materials and by product. The New York State Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCERT ) responded and verified and removed the alleged materials. Deputies and Troopers searched both residences. 

Recovered from the homes were:

  • One rifle reported stolen in a previous burglary
  • Three firearms which are still being investigated
  • Multiple firearm parts 
  • Approximately 39 ounces of positively tested methamphetamine oiling various stages of production 
  • More than 3 grams of finished methamphetamine product

The following people were arrested:

  • Robert D. Baker, 32, of Addison NY
  • Samuel K. Byler, 26, of Addison NY
  • Edward J. Howlett, 32, of Addison NY
  • Serena A Russell, 21, of Savona NY 
  • John T. Hallett, 24, of Elkland PA
  • Ashley M. Webster, 26, of Hornell NY

All six were arraigned in the Town of Bath Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
