Glenn Thomaris Returns To Coaching For Elmira Mammoth

ELMIRA – At a press conference held earlier today, President and co-owner of Mammoth Sports and Entertainment Steve Donner announced Glenn Thomaris would be the first head coach in the team history.

Thomaris is known for his long and distinguished coaching career. He was head coach of the Elmira College Soaring Eagles for seven years and spent three years as assistant coach of the Elmira Jackals. Thomaris has also been named the NCAA Division III “Coach of the Year” twice. He boasts a coaching record of 316-198-23

“Glenn brings tremendous coaching experience and knowledge of the Elmira market to the organization,” said Donner. “He is a man of character, and the perfect person to build a winning culture in our organization.”

“I want to say thank you to Steve Donner for coming into Elmira with a vision to reestablish First Arena as a premier entertainment facility, and for myself, a chance to continue the high level of hockey we’ve come to know and enjoy here in Elmira,” Said Thomaris.

The Mammoth will open their inaugural season of hockey against Binghamton on October 14th at the Visions Memorial Arena. Their first home game will be against the Binghamton Black Bears on October 15th at 6:30pm
