Elmira City Manager Announces New Fire Chief

ELMIRA – Earlier today, City Manager P. Michael Collins, announced the appointment of Fire Marshal Andrew Mallow to Fire Chief.

Mallow has been with the Elmira Fire Department since March of 1999. During his tenure he has served as a Fire Fighter, Lieutenant and most recently as Fire Marshal. He also served as the Union President for Local 709.

In addition to his service with the department, he started a construction company working on residential and commercial remodeling. He also opened MCS Woodworking which specialized in cabinet and mill work shop. Mallow recently retired from the woodworking business to focus on his family and the Elmira Fire Department.

Mallow resides in Pine City with his wife Stacie, they have two grown adult children.

Mallow will replace Fire Chief Joseph Martino, who will be retiring early next month.
