Three Arrested After Incident In Bath

BATH – On Sunday evening around 7:00 PM, the Bath Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance at a home on West William Street in the village. When Officers arrived, they saw three people leave the residence. When the three saw police, they ran off. Police chased after them and were able to apprehend two of them on Cruger Street. The third person was apprehended about twenty minutes later by a Steuben County Sheriff Deputy on West Washington Street.

During the investigation, police determined that the three suspects had forced their way into the residence where they demanded money and threatened to harm the resident and their family, including a child.

As a result, police arrested 21 year old Aniston Wheeler and 18 year old Kanye Rouse, both of Elmira. The two were charged with Second Degree Burglary, a class c felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The third suspect, a 14 year old from Elmira was also charged with Second Degree Burglary.

Wheeler and Rouse were processed and transported to the Steuben County jail for arraignment today. The 14 year old was issued an appearance ticket and released into the custody of a parent/guardian until they will appear before Steuben County Probation at a later date.
